Alternative School students are responsible for completing counseling services with me on a weekly basis. Students will also receive individual and group guidance while receiving educational services in the Marshall County Alternative School setting.
Students will also complete behavioral intervention models through a program call ABE which many of the schools use through ISS that help the students learn better coping mechanisms.
Students are required to be on dress code and arrive at and depart at designated times and transportation is not provided through the school system unless part of the special education accommodation team's approval.
Students do not receive a snack time while at the Marshall County Alternative setting and no student is allowed to bring any form of technology such as cell phones. Students in the Marshall County Alternative setting are also required to wear a white t shirt or a white sweatshirt if they do not have one, one will be provided for them and then washed at the end of the week.
I am here for you and your student during their time at the Alternative school setting. Students who have received longer than a ten day sentence will be working in an educational virtual environment called Edgenuity. Students will receive online instruction and with your email information, you can also see how your student is doing throughout the day. If your interested in the option, please discuss this upon the intake interview and a code will be provided to you.
Students are successful at Marshall County Alternative School so long as they can be Respectful, Resourceful, and Responsible. Nothing less will be tolerated.
